This is a Private Full Day Walking Tour walking tour of the ancient city of Varanasi, which shows the best of this iconic destination. Walking through the Golden Temple area is unique because this part of the city is the most important cultural and financial area. The Golden Temple is the most important Shiva temple in all of India. Along the way, you will also see historical mosques, hidden alleyways, bazaars, and the architecture of ancient Varanasi buildings, the world's largest crematorium, and local markets.

Detailed Itinerary

Your guide will pick you up at 6 Am from your hotel or guest house, for the boat ride in the morning and the excursion on foot, or at 2:00 pm, for the walk and the Ganga Arti ceremony from your hotel in Varanasi and take you to Assi Ghat.
Tour starting point is Assi Ghat, firstly visit the birthplace of Rani Laxmibai, the queen of the Jhansi state in the 19th century. Then you will go to Lonark Kund, a sacred pond in Varanasi where Hindu devotees come to worship, the city of Kurukshetra and the Harischandra Ghat (Cremation Ghat) to see the cremation rituals than visit Bengali Tola area.

Then, enter the narrow streets full of life with its residents, businesses, temples, vendors of vegetables, cows and bulls in the Kedar Ghat and Dashaswamedh Ghat.
Take a break to have some tea or Lassi and some special Varanasi snacks such as Chaat or other South Indian dishes. After your break, visit the world famous Vishwanath Temple or the Annapurna Temple before enjoying your time walking through the narrow lanes of Vishwanath Gali, the area near the Golden Temple, Khoya Gali and Kachori Gali.
You will walk to the Mtillanikanka Ghat, also known as the burning Ghat for cremation, to enjoy the traditional rituals before returning to Dashaswamedh Ghat. Here you take the boat for the evening Ganga Aarti, later the local guide will drop you at your hotel.
